Ephesus is famous archaeological remains of great civilization which dates back to 356 BC built by Greeks. It is one of the seven wonders of thea ncient world and during 2nd century it was one of the fourth largest city of eastern Roman Empire. It is located in Asia Minor in what today is known as Izmir. It was one of the leading seaport of the region and was considered most wealthiest city. This city holds one of the biggest libraries and temples of the time. It is now in one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
The day trip starts with a visit to the House of Virgin Mary, which is believed to be the house that hosted Virgin Mary during the last years of her life. Until we reach the House, we will admire the fortress in Selcuk and the Temple of Artemis, which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world! The tour continues passing through the Magnesia Gate. A gate which faces the city of Magnesia, also being the one of the two entrances to the ancient city.
Reaching the ruins of Ephesus, you will admire the best preserved Temple of Handrian, the monument of Trajan Fountain, the imposing Great Theater, the well known Celsus Library and the Basilica of St.John.
At the end of the tour, you will take part to a demonstration of handmade Turkish carpet
