Istanbul City is one of the most common destinations in the World and has 2 different airports: one located on European side and Asian side.

Istanbul Ataturk Airport which is located on European side and it's the main terminal for international flights.

Istanbul Ataturk Airport is located 18 km away from the Old City area where Sultanahamet, Sirkeci, Aksaray are and are 23 km away from Taksim area which is called as New City.

Mostly Domestic flights and some international flights arrive on Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport which is located on Asian Side and 45 km far away from Old City area where Sultanahamet, Sirkeci, Aksaray are located and 40 km far away from Taksim which is called as New City Area.

There are several ways to reach from hotel to airports or from airports to any destination such as;
By Tram&Metro, Taxi, Airport Transfer Service, Airport Bus.

Havatas (Airport Bus)provides direct transfers to Taksim, Bakirkoy and Kozyatagi(Asian side). You can take a taxi from these points to final destination. Havatas departs every half an hour from both airports.

As well as Tram&Metro has easy connection to destinations and no traffic! But Istanbul population is rising and as far as we know number has reached twenty million therefore luggage will be problem. In compare with another services Tram&Metro seems less secure and like Havatas, if you use Tram&Metro you need to get another service to reach final destination. Taxi seems good option for traveller that in Istanbul city there (apprx.) 19.500 cabs.

Payee screen of cab (Taximeter) must be 2.95 TL / current flat rate. Taxi fare is incremented with approximately 1,83 TL / km. If taxi gets caught up in traffic and doesn’t move or has to wait on your behalf for over a minute, 0.30 TL must be added. Taksimeter which is stabled by Goverment but when you stuck on traffic it would be 3-5 fold of regular price. Also if you are single traveler it is ok for luggage but if you are up to 3 people this would be hard to carry luggage on baggage.
