Bosphorus is the crossroad between Europe and Asia that runs between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. Where during the early centuries, witnessed the passage of many heroes, mythological figures, warlike tribes and armies! 


During these early centuries, this famous pass stayed unpopulated! There were only temples dedicated to sea gods, to ensure a safe journey through these waters. But during the Byzantine Empire, many beautiful Byzantine monasteries were built on the banks of Bosphorus, which obtained great fame!

Being the only passage between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, the Bosphorus has always been of great commercial and strategic importance. This significance of the strait, was one of the factors in the decision of the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great, to found there his new capital, Constantinople (Istanbul), in AD 330…

It is inconceivable to travel to Istanbul without taking a tour on the Bosphorus! The view you’ll enjoy is amazing. It is as if the entire city bows to the shores of Bosphorus. On the Asian side lies the Beylerbeyi Palace and right behind it rises the Camlica Hill, which offers an amazing overwiew of the city, beeing the highest point of Istanbul. Near by is also located Goksu Palace. At Beykoz area, lies the Hidiv Palace, which is now a hotel that hosts concerts and conferences.


The first bridge that united the two continents and brought the two sides of Istanbul even closer, is another admirable attraction on Bosphorus!
