Food Costs
Regular restaurants: Meals in regular restaurants in Turkey without alcohol aren’t expensive. Especially if you don’t choose to stay somewhere near the touristic streets. The price per person is around 10€ to 15€
Nice restaurants: A meal at a nice restaurant with starter, main dish, desert and alcohol (wine or raki) will cost you around 25€ per person. Alcohol is really expensive in Istanbul, so if you want to pay less, don’t include it in your order
Street Food: You can easily find Durum and Doner at 2/3€ . Fresh juices for 1/2€, simits and water less than 1€. Balik ekmek (fish with bread) for 3€. Street food is an amazing way to explore the food culture of the city and of course will reduce your costs

Transportation Costs
The best way to travel around Istanbul is by buying an Istanbul Kart. You can find these cards almost everywhere and you need to pay a non-refundable 7 TL fee (for the actual card and the service), and of course an amount of your choice to load onto the card. To reload the card, you can either go to newsstands and small shops (look for the phrase Akbil Dolum Noktası) which offer this service, or use self-service special purpose machines at major transit stations
Each trail costs 2.15 liras but if you use it again within a 1 hour period, then you will pay less. From the Atatürk airport you can take a Havatas bus to Taksim which costs 11 TL per person, while the same service from Sabiha Gocken cost 16 TL. If you are a group of 3 or more people, then it is better for you to take a taxi. You will pay approximately 50-60 TL
